2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5

by Client

Overview

When it comes to the Hyundai IONIQ 5, "eye-catching" is an understatement. With a unique, futuristic look that's unrivaled in its class, this EV continues to stand out from the crowd. An award-winning industry favorite, the IONIQ 5's base model features a 63.0 kW battery pack and delivers 168 hp and 245 miles of range. The larger 84-kW battery pack trim can go about 290 miles with its dual motors or up to 318 miles with a single motor. Also of note is the 2025 IONIQ 5's fast-charging, which lets you charge like a pro, with 350-kW DC fast-charging capability—a charging speed usually reserved for more expensive luxury EVs.  Inside, the 2025 IONIQ 5 continues its modernistic look with a tech-savvy interior featuring a digitized dash and plenty of social-conscious eco-friendly materials.

Who's It For?

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 will appeal to the car owner who is ready for an EV and wants everyone to know that their rad-looking ride is a flash of the future. Given the quickness of its recharging and its impressive range, the 2025 IONIQ 5 is a great choice for a new EV owner who isn't able or willing to install a home charging station. As an EV, the Hyundai IONIQ 5's completely flat floor means maximum passenger and cargo space.

What's New for 2025?

The 2025 IONIQ 5 gets some visually subtle but significant upgrades for 2025. Larger battery packs and increased capacity across the lineup make the IONIQ 5 an even better value for those suffering from range anxiety. It also adopts the NACS charging port and comes with a CCS adapter, opening the IONIQ 5 to even more charging stations across the country. The new NXT trim offers a more rugged appearance with increased ride height, all-terrain tires, and updated bumpers.

Real World Performance

The 2025 IONIQ 5 is more fun to drive than a lot of EVs in its class and even more enjoyable than a lot of non-EV SUVs. Its blend of 1980s hatchback retro style tied to a futuristic vibe makes this crossover unique. The 2025 IONIQ 5's base model delivers 168 hp with 220 miles of range. This is more than enough for casual commuters and daily adventurers.

The longer-range single-motor IONIQ 5 can go the distance—303 miles of distance, to be exact. That's more than any other EV priced under $60,000. For owners looking to get a bit more horsepower, the IONIQ 5 offers a 320-hp all-wheel drive dual-motor model, but you'll sacrifice a few miles of range as it delivers about 290 miles per charge. No matter the model, the IONIQ offers a sporty, responsive drive, and its wider-than-expected tires for an EV let the IONIQ 5's athleticism shine through.
